September 5-26, 2008: Heart in Hand Quilt Guild of Dawsonville will have its annual quilt show at the Bowen Arts Center in Dawsonville. This year's show title is "Southern Comforts". Opening night reception 9/5 from 5-7:30pm. Free admission, but call the Arts Center to be sure they're open when you're planning a trip to view the Show. 706.216.2787. September 13-14, 2008: Chattahoochee Evening Stars Quilt Guild presents "Stars 'N' Stitches" Quilt Show. Sat 9-6, Sun 12-5. Held in conjunction with the Old Milton Country Fair (Saturday) at Connected Academy Gymnasium, 86 School Drive, Alpharetta, GA. Inside the show enjoy our unique vendors, door prizes, and quilts, quilts, quilts. On Saturday, enjoy barbecue, blue grass music, old-time carnival games, heritage and country crafts and demonstrations, pony and train rides, historic exhibits, classic cars, and storytelling at the Country Fair. Exhibition only of beautiful quilts, Vendors, Silent Auction and Raffle Quilt. Admission $2. 9/19-20 10AM-5PM, 9/21: noon-4PM. Cartersville Civic Center, 435 W Main St., Cartersville. October 6 - 12, 2008: Join Sew Let's Travel on the bus trip to the new AQS Show in Des Moines, IA, which will include visits at the Univ. of Nebraska - "The International Quilt Study Group" Museum, the AQS Show, Amish Center of Shipshewana, Indiana, and the Quilters Hall of Fame, Marion, IN. If not selected, it will be returned in a timely manner. Selected quilts will be displayed at the Callaway Gardens Discovery Center.
